3. Prices, taxes, and additional charges
The plan page and shop show the available offers. The applicable price and currency are shown before you confirm checkout. All displayed prices include applicable taxes. JLPTMatome does not charge additional transaction or service fees.
JLPTMatome Plus is paid in advance for the full monthly, six-month, or yearly period you select. Check the full charge for that period before paying. A monthly comparison price does not mean a six-month or yearly plan is charged each month.
Each Study Coin pack shows its coin amount, any included bonus, and its price. The amount shown for your chosen offer applies to that purchase.
4. Payment methods and timing
Website payments are handled by Stripe using credit or debit cards. Payment is due when you complete checkout. JLPTMatome Plus renewal payments are charged automatically at the start of each new subscription period unless renewal has been canceled.
5. Digital delivery and service start
JLPTMatome Plus access and purchased Study Coin packs are delivered digitally to your JLPTMatome account after payment is confirmed. No physical goods are shipped. Any Study Coins included with a subscription follow the crediting schedule shown in that offer.
If payment has been confirmed but access or purchased coins are missing, use our contact page and include your account email and purchase reference. Do not send private or personal banking information.
6. Subscription periods, renewal, and cancellation
JLPTMatome Plus subscriptions renew automatically for the same monthly, six-month, or yearly period unless you cancel renewal. The selected period, renewal price, and payment terms are shown before you buy.
To cancel a website subscription, go to My page > Account & security > Your membership > Manage to open the Subscription page. Cancel before the next renewal to stop future renewal charges. You keep JLPTMatome Plus until the end of the paid period shown in your account unless you delete your account earlier through the website or iOS app.
Canceling renewal does not refund the current paid period, except where applicable law requires otherwise. Signing out or uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription. To delete your JLPTMatome account in the Android app, cancel renewal and wait until your paid access has ended.
The website and iOS app let you delete your account while paid access remains once cancellation is confirmed. For a website subscription billed through Stripe, the deletion flow cancels it immediately and checks that cancellation succeeded before deleting your account. Deletion ends access to the remaining paid period. The remaining time on your subscription is non-refundable, except where a refund is granted under the applicable Apple App Store or Google Play refund policy. Apple and Google Play handle store refund requests under those policies. Our Terms & Conditions explain the steps for subscriptions purchased through Apple or Google Play.
7. Study Coin packs
Study Coin packs are one-time purchases and do not renew. Study Coins are for use within JLPTMatome and cannot be exchanged for cash. The shop shows the coin prices and conditions for the items available to buy with coins.
8. Cancellations, refunds, and purchase problems
Website purchases, including JLPTMatome Plus subscriptions, renewals, and Study Coin packs, are non-refundable except where applicable law requires otherwise. We do not offer refunds for unused subscription time, unused coins, or a change of mind. Your mandatory consumer rights remain unchanged.
For any question about your account, billing, or access, contact us through our contact page, whether you use the website or the Apple or Google Play apps. For purchase questions, include your JLPTMatome account email and purchase reference. Do not send private or personal banking information.
9. What you need to use the service
You need an internet connection, a compatible device, and a current web browser with JavaScript and essential cookies enabled. You also need a JLPTMatome account to receive website purchases and use the features included in your subscription.
10. Availability and purchase conditions
Only currently available offers can be purchased. Any purchase limits, eligibility requirements, or offer deadlines are shown with the offer before you buy.
You cannot start another JLPTMatome Plus subscription while one is active on the same JLPTMatome account, including a subscription purchased through Apple or Google Play. Check your existing subscription before buying.
11. App store purchases and other terms
This page describes purchases made on the JLPTMatome website. Purchases made through the Apple App Store or Google Play are handled through that store and are non-refundable, except where a refund is granted under the applicable Apple App Store or Google Play refund policy. The store’s payment and cancellation procedures apply.
