What it means
てみせる expresses the speaker’s strong determination or confident resolve to carry out an action, often with the nuance of proving that it will be done despite difficulty or doubt. It follows a verb in the て-form and is more forceful than てみる, which simply means to try doing something. The form can describe a promise, a challenge, or a firm declaration about a future action.
Usage note
てみせる can sound dramatic, emphatic, or confrontational, so it is less suitable for neutral statements of intention. In polite speech, the auxiliary becomes みせます, but the determined nuance remains.
