What it means
以来 means “since” or “from that time on.” It marks a starting point in the past and indicates that a state or action has continued from then until the relevant present or another reference time. It follows a noun referring to an event or time, or a verb in the て-form. The phrase often describes an ongoing result, habit, or situation, and it is more formal and written than everyday expressions such as から.
Usage note
以来 normally refers to a starting point that has a continuing connection to the later situation. Do not confuse it with 以来の, which modifies a noun, or with それ以来, which means “since then” and is used as a fixed expression.
