What it means
ばかりか means “not only A, but also B.” It presents B as an additional fact, often one that is more surprising, extreme, or impressive than A. It can attach to nouns, な-adjectives with な, い-adjectives, and plain-form verbs. The construction is commonly followed by も, まで, or さえ in the second part, although these are not mandatory.
Usage note
ばかりか is neutral and can be used in both familiar and polite sentences, but the sentence ending determines the overall register. Do not confuse it with ばかり meaning “just” or “only”; ばかりか specifically adds another fact rather than limiting the meaning.
