What it means
としても expresses a hypothetical concession: even if a condition is true, the result or judgment remains unchanged. It is used when the speaker considers a possible situation and states that it would not affect the main proposition. It commonly follows a plain-form verb or i-adjective, and it follows a noun or na-adjective with だとしても.
Usage note
としても is more hypothetical and conditional than ても, which can also describe a factual concession such as “although” or “even though.” With nouns and na-adjectives, だ must normally be included before としても.
