What it means
につき attaches to a noun and indicates a cause or reason, meaning “because of” or “due to.” It can also mean “per” when stating a rate or allocation. This form is especially common in formal notices, announcements, regulations, and written instructions, and it gives the statement an official or impersonal tone.
Usage note
につき is considerably more formal than ordinary causal expressions such as ので and から, so it is not normally used in casual conversation. Do not confuse its causal use with its “per” use; the surrounding noun and sentence meaning determine the interpretation.
