What it means
なお is a formal adverb used to add supplementary information, often meaning “furthermore,” “in addition,” or “please note that.” It commonly appears at the beginning of a sentence in announcements, notices, reports, instructions, and other written or formal contexts. Although it can also mean “still” or “yet” in some contexts, that meaning usually expresses continuation of a state and must be distinguished from its supplementary use.
Usage note
なお is strongly associated with formal and written language and is not a natural choice for casual conversation. Do not automatically translate it as “still”; when it introduces additional information, “furthermore,” “in addition,” or “please note that” is more accurate.
