What it means
とか(で) lists representative examples rather than an exhaustive set. It can mean “things like,” “such as,” or “among other things,” and often suggests that the speaker is giving only a few examples. It attaches to nouns and to plain-form predicates, including verbs and adjectives. When followed by で, the listed nouns or actions indicate a place, means, or method, as in “at places such as ...” or “by doing things like ...”.
Usage note
With na-adjectives and nouns used as predicates, だ is normally retained before とか, as in 便利だとか. Do not confuse this pattern with the quotative or hearsay use of とか in expressions such as 何とか言う.
