What it means
上で follows a verb in the た-form to mean “after doing” something and then carrying out the next action. It presents the first action as a completed step or prerequisite, often before making a decision, taking action, or proceeding with a formal process. The expression is more deliberate and formal than simply saying あとで, and it often suggests that the second action is based on the first.
Usage note
Do not confuse verb-た上で with noun-related uses of 上で, which can mean “on” or “in terms of.” With verbs, the action before 上で must be in the た-form.
