What it means
だらけ follows a noun to mean that something is full of, covered with, or riddled with that thing. It usually describes an undesirable or negative condition, such as errors, dirt, scratches, or problems. In predicate sentences, it is commonly followed by だ in familiar speech or です in polite speech, and it can also appear in the pattern NだらけのN.
Usage note
だらけ normally carries a negative nuance and is not the usual choice for neutral abundance. For a surface that is covered with a substance, まみれ may be more appropriate when the emphasis is physical coating rather than an undesirable collection of things.
