What it means
だけでなく means “not only X but also Y.” It adds X as one item and then presents another item, action, or quality as an additional point. X can be a noun, a na-adjective with な, an i-adjective, or a plain-form verb. The second part often contains も, but も can be omitted when the “also” meaning is clear from context.
Usage note
だけでなく usually connects to a following statement, so it is commonly followed by a comma and another clause. Do not confuse it with だけではない, which means that something is not merely limited to one thing and does not necessarily introduce a second item.
