What it means
も marks an item as being included in the same situation as another item that is known or understood. It commonly means “also” or “too,” and it can follow a noun or pronoun that functions as a subject, object, or other sentence element. The sentence ending still changes according to register, so も itself is used in both familiar and polite sentences.
Usage note
も often replaces は, が, or を when it marks the same role as “also”; it is not usually added after those particles. With negative sentences or quantities, も can instead mean “not even” or “as many as,” so the surrounding context is important.
