What it means
どころではない expresses that something is not an appropriate time, situation, or circumstance for an action or activity. It often implies that a more serious problem, urgent task, or difficult condition makes the mentioned activity impossible or inappropriate. Depending on context, it can also mean that reality is far from the expected description, as in “it is nowhere near being ...”. It commonly follows a noun or a verb in its plain form.
Usage note
どころではない is stronger than simply saying that someone does not want to do something; it usually suggests that circumstances prevent the action. The polite counterpart is どころではありません.
