What it means
ながらも expresses a contrast between two facts: although the first situation is true, the result in the second clause is unexpected or goes against what might normally be expected. It commonly attaches to a verb masu-stem, an adjective, a na-adjective, or a noun. The second clause can describe an action, state, or result, and the form is often used in writing and careful speech.
Usage note
ながらも is somewhat formal and is more common in written or carefully prepared language than in casual conversation. Do not confuse it with ながら meaning “while,” which describes two simultaneous actions rather than a concessive contrast.
