What it means
そうもない expresses that something appears very unlikely to happen or that there is little possibility of it happening. It attaches to the masu-stem of a verb and is often used when the speaker judges a situation from available evidence. The も adds emphasis, suggesting that the expected event does not seem likely at all. The polite counterpart is そうもありません.
Usage note
そうもない is a plain form, while そうもありません is its polite counterpart. Do not attach it directly to a dictionary-form verb; use the masu-stem instead, such as 守り from 守ります.
