What it means
ていただけませんか is a very polite way to ask someone to do something. It follows the te-form of a verb and is common when speaking to a stranger, customer, teacher, or someone who deserves respect. The negative question makes the request sound less direct and gives the listener room to refuse. Its familiar counterpart is てくれない?, which is used with people close to the speaker.
Usage note
Use ていただけませんか for requests, not for describing a past action. The person being asked is usually understood as the subject of the verb.
