What it means
それでも means “even so” or “nevertheless.” It connects a situation with a result that is unexpected in light of that situation. It commonly appears at the beginning of a sentence or clause and shows that the following statement remains true despite the previous information.
Usage note
それでも usually connects two complete clauses or sentences. It is stronger than a simple contrast marker because it emphasizes that the second situation continues despite an obstacle or unfavorable condition.
