What it means
ようになる expresses a change that develops over time: someone or something reaches a new state, starts doing something regularly, stops doing something, or becomes able to do something. It commonly follows a verb in the dictionary form, a negative form, or a potential form. The change is presented as a result or development rather than as a direct intention.
Usage note
Do not confuse ようになる with ようにする. ようになる describes a change that comes about, while ようにする describes someone making an effort or taking steps to make something happen.
