What it means
意向形 expresses the speaker’s intention or a suggestion to do something together. In familiar speech, it is commonly used like “Let’s ...” or “I’ll ...,” depending on context. In polite speech, the corresponding form is ~ましょう. The meaning is usually decided by the situation and by whether the speaker is inviting someone else or stating a personal plan.
Usage note
意向形 is not an imperative, so it normally presents an intention or invitation rather than a direct command. The familiar form can sound firm when addressed to someone with lower social status, so ~ましょう is safer in polite situations.
