What it means
ので connects a reason or cause to a result and means “because” or “since.” It often gives a softer, more explanatory impression than から. A plain verb or i-adjective comes directly before ので. A noun or na-adjective requires な before ので. In polite sentences, a polite verb form can come before ので, while nouns and adjectives normally keep the same form before ので and the politeness appears in the main clause.
Usage note
Do not omit な after a noun or na-adjective. For example, 学生なので and 静かなので are correct, while 学生ので and 静かので are not. ので can introduce a reason, but it should not be used to force a speaker to accept an excuse; から is often more direct.
