Exam Simulation
The JLPT Exam Simulation is a feature on JLPTMatome designed to help you prepare for the real JLPT exam. Whether you're getting ready for the official test or just want to practice and improve your skills, this tool puts you in real exam conditions!
No need to worry about losing your progress! All your test results are automatically saved to your account. You can review your previous tests anytime on your account page, track your progress, and focus on improving the areas where you struggled.
Each section has a set time limit, which you can check above. However, you don’t have to use all of the allocated time—you can complete the simulation at your own pace as long as you stay within the time limit for each section.
No, pausing is not available. The goal of this simulation is to recreate real JLPT exam conditions, so managing your time wisely is part of the challenge!
No! Each session generates a random set of questions from a database of over 5000 questions. While vocabulary and grammar questions will rarely repeat, you may see some familiar ones in reading and listening sections, as these have fewer available items. But don’t worry—we’re constantly adding more content!
To pass the JLPT simulation, you need to score above the minimum required score for each section (vocabulary, grammar, reading, and listening). Unlike the real JLPT exam, where an overall score is also considered, our simulation only applies section-based minimums to better fit the shorter test format.
The Flashcard Drill is a tool to reinforce your learning by reviewing vocabulary, kanji, and grammar in a structured way. The JLPT Exam Simulation, on the other hand, is designed to test your knowledge in a full exam setting, including reading and listening sections, time management, and structured question formats.
No, this is an independent simulation created by the JLPTMatome team to help learners prepare for the real test. While we aim to provide an experience as close as possible to the actual exam, the questions and format may differ.
