What it means
といったらない expresses an extreme degree that is difficult or impossible to describe adequately. It follows a noun, a na-adjective, an i-adjective, or a plain verb phrase and adds strong emotional emphasis, often conveying admiration, delight, discomfort, surprise, or another intense reaction. The expression is emphatic and generally conversational rather than especially characteristic of formal speech.
Usage note
といったらない is not normally used for neutral, factual description. Its polite counterpart, といったらありません, is possible, but it remains strongly emphatic and can sound somewhat more elaborate than ordinary polite phrasing.
