What it means
もし~たら expresses a condition: if something happens, or in case something happens. もし is often used to clearly mark the condition, while たら attaches to the past form of a verb, adjective, or noun-based expression. The result clause can describe a plan, request, suggestion, or likely outcome. The condition may be real or hypothetical, depending on the context.
Usage note
Do not confuse conditional たら with its use for a sequence of events, such as “when I finished.” もし is optional when the conditional meaning is already clear.
