What it means
に marks the destination or target of movement and is commonly translated as “to.” It follows a place, person, or other destination and is used with movement verbs such as 行く, 来る, and 帰る. It identifies where someone or something is going, coming, or returning.
Usage note
に has several other uses, including marking a time or an indirect recipient. For direction, へ can also follow a destination, but へ places slightly more emphasis on the direction of movement.
