What it means
から has two common N5-level uses. After a noun, place, or time expression, it means “from,” showing a starting point or origin. After a clause, it means “because” and gives a reason. For a verb, から follows the plain form in familiar speech; in polite speech, it commonly follows the ます form. With nouns and な-adjectives used as reasons, だ or です comes before から.
Usage note
Do not confuse the source meaning of から with the reason meaning. When から follows a noun or な-adjective to mean “because,” use だから in familiar speech and ですから in polite speech.
